♥ N.Y.C. Blue Franken Skittles ♥

~ Above Flash ~

 ~ Below No Flash ~

I love taking photos of deep blue polish's, the colors always come out right. Sometimes I use a piece of navy/deep blue Tye-Dye fabric as a backdrop and it seems to get the colors of whatever I am photographing to show up better.... Today my fabric backdrop is a solid black. It's also a good idea that if you use some type of backdrop, fabric or whatever, it has no shimmer/sheen or sheen to it, I feel like this absorbs the flash and helps the photos come out better. Anyhoo- here are the franken polish's that I been needing to swatch for three months... THREE MONTHS!

These are all 2 coats, including the N.Y.C. on my RING finger, as well as the China Glaze on my THUMB;

THUMB - China Glaze 'Shower Together' 2 coats no top coat
INDEX - N.Y.C. 'Skin Tight Denim' - 2 coats & 1 coat of Nailene Acrylic Strong T.C.
MIDDLE - Franken Polish  'Marrianna's Trench' 2 coats
RING - Franken Polish 'Cloud Nine'
PINKY - Franken Polish 'Calm Blue Ocean'

Without top coat, these are matte finish's ~ and although they are very pretty as a matte, I looooove how they look with 2 coats of a shiny top coat. I used Nailene Acrylic Strong top coat, except for my thumb which has no top coat and is only painted for a color reference. also I cannot praise it enough but I loooove N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim, it is a long lasting polish that dries fast and is such a beautiful richly pigmented color, but with unfortunate initials.A definite must have.

Hopefully it is easy to pick out which eyeshadow created which franken. I was a little sad about the very lightest eye-shadow I used, for the polish I named 'Calm Blue Ocean', I think it is still a little sheer, and I may tweak it in the future..... I absolutely love Marrianna's Trench, in the close-up's further into this post it is soooooooooooo pretty! What "real" nail polish looks like this? My darling polish of the moment id N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim. I neeeeeed back-up bottels but I never see this in stores in my town.

Read more details of this franken-awesome-ness HERE in this post. I am very pleased how these turned out. I have spotted these N.Y.C. eyeshadow trio's at discount stores alot recently, my MOM had the purple one but so far I have only found the blue and brown. These 'eye-shadow' frankens settle alot, so having ballz in them was important, other things to mention, these are not like a normal nail polish, they are very thick and can be difficult to apply. I love how they are thicker and find I have gotten pretty good at applying these types of frankens, also ( sigh) if you should decide to whip some of these up or 'fix-up' any nail polish with shadows & pigments, be sure to have a separate top-coat (if you care) top coats will 'pick-up' shimmer and glitter in your frankens, and you will contaminate your top coat. Like I did 5 times so far this year.... But now i have a separate Top Coat for loose-glitter and franken's
