This was 3 coats of NYC Prince Street, followed by NYC Chelsea sponged on, then a coat of Maybelline ColorRama #40 Frosty Pink. I wanted the two polish colours to be distinguished on the nail, and it turned out just the way I hoped. 

The ColorRama Top Coat was a last minute addition. This is supposed to be the same shimmery particles that are in Clarin's 230 or Unicorn Pee as it's referred to on MUA. The particles in  ColorRama #40 Frosty Pink have a unique property in that they look like glowing embers floating off of a burning fire.

I picked up this ColorRama polish at the Dollar Tree USA in my great USA haul of 2010.

Below is NYC in a New York Color minute quick dry polish in Prince Street. this was 3 coats.I would say this need 4 thin coats to opacity - it does dry fast! Hopefully for my next franken collection I will be using this polish, I have already used NYC polish's for some fabulous frankens and  I know I could whip up some stunners with this polish by just adding black, white and a few other shimmers I have kicking around to make some lovely polish's.

I like how they say 'career length' and I call them trophy wife length lol! in photos where my nails are on the long side, this is what I am wearing. Lately I have been using Nailene shorter length square artifical nails..... Typing with long nails like the ones above is not fun........

a patchwork mani...............

My left hand looks good - but my right, non-dominat hand is not so good♥

This is 2 coats of Billie Silver, a swipe of Maybelline Express Finish Matte Rose and Claire's Matte Cobalt, I added a thin coat of TC, I'll be removing this in the a.m. because I don't really like it. IT NEEDS GLITTER - but I am trying to hold off on the glitter and work on mastering 'nail art' like this on my right hand ( which looks terrible . I'll have to stick to using tip guides or tape for my non-dominant hand.

Basically I swiped the red polish diagonally across my entire nail, and the blue polish across the tips of my nails in the opposite direction. then I added a thin coat of TC.

Also; This Billie polish is found on many Canadian Dollar-stores, mostly independent dollar stores but in central and western Canada it can be found at Dollar Giant. Pure Ice Rio & Maybelline Violet Aluminum ( again )

Maybelline Violet Aluminum, 1 coat, followed by 2 coats of an older Sally Hansen HAN polish called Grape Pop, and 3 coats of Pure Ice Rio. My camera and lighting situation is not picking up those pretty blurple flecks in Pure Ice Rio ( I promise that is my last complaint about my light issuez.....)

Maybelline Violet Aluminum is is gorgeous bright magenta, (fuchsia). When I think of 'violet' I think of purple, as in African violets, or hyacinth's; that type of washed-out blue toned purple....but that's just my opinion. When you Google 'violet' not a lot of items come up that are the colour of this polish.

This is an older polish that I found at a now closed store in my town. This polish is on the thick side because it is older, but it applied perfectly and dried very fast, I wish I bought more of these Maybelline Express Finish polish's when I spotted them.

... whoops! This was a photo before I added Pure Ice Rio so 1 coat of Maybelline Express Finish Violet Aluminum, and 2 thin coats of Sally Hansen Grape Pop. SH Grape Pop is a sparkly grape colored jelly polish.

Middle nail ( second from top ) is 1 coat of Maybelline Violet Aluminum, the rest of my nails have 2 coats of Sally Hansen Grape Pop layered over 1 coat of Violet Aluminum.

Maybelline Violet Aluminum, Claire's 14 Karat and Pure Ice Rio -

3 coats of an un-named icing mini which is basically a watered down version of Claire's 14 Karats, followed by Maybelline Violet Aluminum sponged diagonally across my nails and a coat of Pure ice Rio =  which is a violet jelly base with flecks of vibrant blurple...flecks.

I still have not acquired the light-bulb I normally use so my photos are not picking up those super-pretty AWESOME flecks in Pure Ice Rio. I forgot how pretty Maybelline Violet Aluminum was, I plan on wearing this again soon....

I am holding Claire's 14 Karats, which is painted on my ring nail, the rest of my nails are 3 coats of an un-named icing (by Claire's) mini - which is a watered down version of Claire's 14 Karats.

My ring nail is Claire's 14 Karats- I actually don't mind the brush strokes on this one....

Super easy blood dripping mani

Base colour is Sally Hansen Dark Chocolate, and I just slapped on the Maybelline Express finish Matte Red in a drippy way ( lol ) & added a coat of  Nailene TC. This is super easy to do. 

I *stretched* another mani by just removing my accent nail art, repainting then adding a coat of this Maybelline Matte Red polish- Below with no TC.

Oops I was wrong - ELF Cranberry, Maybelline Red Comet and SH Rd Carpet

I'm an idea girl, not a swatch/accurate color girl!

The glitter in ELF Cranberry is SILVER suspended in a red jelly base. Where the shards of GOLD awesomeness in Maybelline Red Comet and the Smaller shards of Gold-ish glitter in Red Carpet are GOLD = OOPS!

The silver glitter does look pink in the ELF polish on the nail, just not in any of my photos. In my quickie swatch below this is 2 coats of the Maybelline and 3 coats of the ELF and 3 coats of the Sally Hansen polish with 1 coat of TC for each.

♥ Blue with Silver Glitter polish's Comparison ♥

AWESOME! after doing the full mani & removing it I deleted the full mani file of Nail Fetish 'Gothic' = Dang, so skittles for now. Here is a quick comparison of some other dark blue polish's with small silver glitter in them. I am sure Essie Starry Starry Night is very pretty in real life, but cant relate to the 'hype' or ridiculous price of it.I think if I can can find these in this town, I am certain there are other readily available blue jelly-ish polish's with small silver glitter out there.....

On my Thumb, I applied Claire's Matte Cobalt on the diagonal to half my nail, then applied 2 coats of Nail Fetish 'Gothic'. Nat Robbin's 'Midnight Hour' is a very pretty, but very sheer polish. It is much darker and jelly-like than the other 2 blue/silver glitter polish's I have rounded up. I usually apply a good base of a corresponding polish shade when I wear sheer polish's. I cant be bothered to do 4 or more coats to achieve bottle colour or to get the effect I want.

♥ Maybelline Antique 'Mod Mauve' with a franken and Chevron Tips ♥

 Maybelline Mod Mauve 3 coats with a new franken Polish I made Opal Radish 2 coats of Nailene T.C.

Here is another lovely Maybelline Express finish polish that I picked up last weekend =  for .62 cents! I am super duper sad that an awesome store in my town in closing ~ Field's Department stores is where I found all those awesome old Maybelline Express Finish Polish's, and my awesome mini salad spinner. When I popped in last weekend, these three Maybelline Express Finish Polish's hanging on the shelf = all alone. They ended up costing $0.62 CAD each so of course I had to take them home with me.

I have already modeled 'Natural Pink' and will eventually get to the other polish 'Cafe Au Lait'. 'Natural Pink' was very thin and runny ( I spilled it! of course ) while the other two are very thick and difficult to apply as they are pretty old, but I knocked them both out in three thin coats. They definitely need alot of Top Coat. here I used 2 as I planned on adding a chevron tip to this mani but I probably needed like 3 to 4 thin coats to Top Coat to get this to shine. It just absorbed all the T.C. up = crazy.

apply chevron tips = K I haven't seen Chevron french tip guides in stores for several years. Really I suppose you could just cut out a square and stick it on - but I like to be fancy.

I snip the excess sticker overhanging my nails so it doesn't catch on anything and ruin my mani ( snipped below )

Dang - I had alot of 'bleeding' due to the sticker paper not adhering properly oddly though it left a alot of glue goo on my nails. It was very humid I probably should have used another type of french tip guide { Nailene Perhaps? }















Sometimes when I use Sticker Paper for my chevron or other weird shaped french tips/nail art = this happens. I think it's too humid and so the sticker paper glue melts. = Yuck! I did end up scraping and manipulating the oops area, but I did not get the crisp line I wanted = DANG!

I am whipping up another batch of frankens this week and it's going to be a collection of a colour that I have very little of. When I was hunting around for a specific shade I was shocked and appalled that I only 1 polish in this colour family...... any guesses? Okay it's lavender and lilac cremes. I always reach for China Glaze 'Spontaneous' and never felt the need for another lite purple-ish colour.... But I am hoping to whip up some pretty pastel lilac's and pale lavender colours.

In case you missed it - I did a post about these cheap polish's from the dollarrama and being able to rinse them out - WITH WATER AND A SMIDGEN OF SOAP!!!! (Thank-you frankennerdery for sharing this awesome tip with the world! )

This inexpensive polish has the consistency and scent of white glue, I guess it's for kids and so it is non toxic and safe.... but it never DRIES.. ( ??? ) so I dumped out the contents of this polish and rinsed them out with water. I made sure to remove the brush stem from the lid/brush handle and let everything dry.

before you run to dollarama (CANADA) MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE THE BRUSH STEM FROM THE BRUSH HANDLE, WATER WILL COLLECT IN THAT CAVITY AND END UP IN YOUR POLISH. AND THEN MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS DRY -  mine took almost 2 and a half days ( it was humid here)

It wasn't that messy and is ( thankfully ) alot cheaper than ordering empty bottles.

Yes~ I need to make more nail board thingy's already!  I am actually enjoying gluing them on to the foam board and painting them = its fun and relaxing.

I picked this Acetone Nail Polish Remover up at a little pharmacy in my town. I have seen this at the grocery store and other places but not a little mini bottle like this. It was on clearance for $1.00 CAD and I wonder how it will compare to my current acetone remover ONYX professional that  picked up at Walmart.
