Easy glittery tips

I'm trying to make March green nail polish month here at Deez Nailz.... we'll see how long I last though. Today's mani is 2 coats of an olive green from Color Mates. I found this at The Dollar Tree in the USA.  I sponged on a few layers of Sally Girl Rock Out.

 

I only have a few Color Mates nail polish's and they have a decent formula and dry fast. I have only seen them at The Dollar Tree USA.

This is 2 coats of Color Mates Karen's got a Gun (LOL) it dried super shiny. I believe that these are made in the USA by Diamond cosmetics. Whenever I see posts of these polish's they are always bright happy colors. I have only found bleak dark shades.

Here is a nail fail --- whenever I see people do this kind of nail art it looks awesome -- But I just can't get it right. DIY nail stickers look easy..... I'll keep trying.

Shopping my stash

There is literally hundreds of polish's I want that I will never get my hands on, mostly due to self discipline. Even though I have soooooooo much and am able to aquire what I want pretty much instanteously, I have some serious self discipline. I still have those pangs of jealousy and 'I-want-it-right-now' feelings and despite that I keep myself in check and try to utilize what I already have and look at my own things before running out to the store.

the results of layering this polish over a dark base was a surpise to me. I have had this rediculouly cute mini bottle of Sally Girl Way 2 Disco for a few years and have layered it over other polish's but I did not realize that there was such a huge colour shift = especially over darker shades. I bought it for the sheer glitter and used it a couple of times then tucked it into the top drawer of my Deez-elmer.  I have seen soooooo many blue to green shifting glitters and cant beleive I had this sitting in a drawer. Here I have layered 3 coats over Nina Ultra Pro Out of The Blue. All my photos are crappy indoor lighting but that is the best way fro me to photograph the colour shift.

also; NUBBINS -  I will be cracking down on my beading crafts as well as digging outside inb the garden for the next few days.

2 Valentine's Day looks

3 thin coats of Sally Girl Blink of Pink, freehand chevron with no-name Icing by Claire's neon pink, L.A Colors silver glitter stripe polish and a heart shaped crystal at the peak of the chevron. I probably should have added another coat of hot pink for the chevron as there are some bare spots.....meh.

The chevron I can do - but trying to make a decent symmetrical french tip free-hand is going to take alot of practice, so I try to stick to straight lines via diagonal french tips. When it comes to curved french tips I use french tip guides; but I still practice free hand french tips every once and a while. For this mani I started with 2 coats of Maybelline Mod Mauve, followed by Billie Chianti at the tips of my nails, I traced the line with Art Deco striping polish in hot pink and added a coat of TC.

China Glaze ~ "For Audrey" and China Glaze "Watermelon rind"

There is no sun yet today, but I know that every blogger out there has "For Audrey and Watermelon Rind" swatched so if my fuzzy pic's don't do it for you, please Google it, they are both just gorgeous, and if you get the chance you won't be disappointed that you bought them.

Wow, CG "For Audrey" really is a beautiful color. I couldn't wait to paint my nails with it, so I just slapped it on top of my "deadly" fake nails I was sporting this weekend. In my earlier posts I was describing a polish I used to have by Sally Hansen, and this is a very close match. I am super happy I got this one. I also picked up Watermelon Rind, which is wow, just wow, I have seen both of these swatched a million times on blogs, but in person they really are something else,

I cant wait to paint my nails with the rest ofmy new goodies. And yes, I did say that I was not going to be buying any polish for awhile. But when I say it this time I mean it. I am putting myself out there, and saying that " I am a nail polish buying addict" I know I totally do not need any more, i have, like, 15 I have not worn in public yet.... so why do i buy more? This time i am serious, I will not buy any until May 1st!

In case anyone is curious ( i am )

Because of the sale they were buy one get one free, so they were 3.99 Canadian each... Which is cheaper than most of the drug stores/walmart around here, for good quality polish. As an example,

Sally Hansen Insta Dri, is $5.69 for 9.17 ml

in most stores here...... where as

China Glaze, was $ 3.99 for 14 ml

Insta dri, dries, really, really fast and they have beautiful colors. I will probably be picking up the white and black soon... eeeerrrr, ummmmm I mean in May.

.....And my Sally Beauty Card

The nearest Sally's Beauty Supply is 2 hours away in the "big city". Almost every major city in Canada has a beauty supply shop open to the public except for Manitoba, we just got one like, a few months ago.... isn't that sad? also they had no nail wheels, (the ones you use to display polish colors)

But I am grateful, I picked out some really pretty polishes, but I totally forgot to look for that stick thing that all the tutorial nail artists use when they are painting one single fake nail.... it is a clear Lucite stick, and somehow the acrylic nail stays in place while the do their work on it. Now that I need a picture of it, so possibly someone knows the"real' name of it, I cannot find one......
