2 kinda boring orange mani's

 

My heart isn't into Halloween this year; last year I had all my interior decorations up by Oct 1st and I am just starting to decorate this evening! 

Also, any time I am way for a few days and come back to add posts to my blog - there seems to be problems with blogger. I think this is the 4th time that I have gone away, then sat down to post and blogger is fudged up. Or maybe it's just my blog. sigh. It took 20 minutes to get photos into a post = whats up with that?

Anyhoo - I love the finish of Nicole Fresh Squeezed, but hate that it is streaky and needs like, 4 coats. Here I have layered it over Avon's Bare Necessity which is a pinky mauve.

 The base was Avon Bare Necessity, 2 coats of Nicole by OPI in Fresh Squeezed

 Scotch tape manis are a fine art - I tried to do an orange/green scotch tape look but it turned out terrible - even glitter wouldn't fix it.  I used Avon Olive Green ( USA version )

 ....... and here is how I make good use out of polish with a nasty frost finish...... Sponge! I started with a base of Wet n Wild Sunny Side up - 3 coats - then sponged on Nail Fetish Clash, then added a coat of Love My Nails Dazzling. No TC in these photos.

Bright oranges and pinks always mess with my camera..... I'll have to hunt around on the Internet to figure out what I can do to counteract that problem.

the orange franken I wore for 1 week

Here is another franken I made using the same 2 Billie Cosmetic's polish's; Orange and French White. I wore this polish for 5 days before I layered Nicole Fresh Squeezed over it.

I have added just plain white polish to many sheer or boring polish's with great results. This Billie Orange polish franken  gets alot of use.

This Nicole polish was much more sheer then I thought it would be. I think that without layering this over another polish, it would require 3 to 5 coats to hide visible nail lines and even out the brush marks. Thankfully I only paid 50 cents for this at a garage sale - otherwise I would be disappointed with this one.

♥ OPI - 'Red My Mind' ♥

This older nail polish looks like a florescent to me, it was o bright that my camera was all messed up when I took indoor photos of it. I am modeling this with OPI 'AYQAC' for some contrast and a s a comparison to the super long brush handle. I guess this is how the OPI brush handles used to be. I am not sure how old this is, but it a really bright strong red.

♥ OPI 'AYQ&C' with T.C. ♥

- OPI At Your Quebec & Call - Top Coat -

This has been sitting in my blogger editor for like 3 months and I don't remember why i have it. I guess its becuase I have used top coat and i have also layered it over black? So my MIDDLE is 'AYQAC' layered over black. And with Top Coat. And possibly better pics then my origional post♥

♥ GGG & China Glaze Spontaneous♥

 Before I even screwed the cap back onto my top coat, I had already marred and smudged this manicure.I thought it would be fun to add some China glaze 'Spontaneous ' tot his OPI polish ' Gargantuan Green Grape'. Both of these polish's are a nice creme formula. They are two extremely contarsting colors.

WOW - What a combination! I had to take this off because every 30 seconds it seemed that I was smudging this. You know - those times where you paint your nails and end up bumping into things, or inadvertently touching things with your nails..... grrrrr. Literally less than 1 and 1/2 minutes after putting on a T.C. I fudged this up, royally!

I have not done an 'S' curve manicure for a while..... I cut out a gentle 'S' shape from regular mailing labels, and affixed it to my nail. I applied 2 coats of China Glaze 'Spontaneous' over my previous mani 'OPI 'Gargantuan Green Grape'. When I was sure it was dry, I gently removed the 'S' sticker guide, and immediatly applied a thicker coat of Nailene Acryllic Strong Top Coat. Using a thicker coat of T.C. helped to reduce the ridge that usually develops when using nail tip guides or other stickers..... and when I apply a thick-ish coat of any polish, I try to stay absolutly still.... But his time I ended up with some serious damage.

Oh well---- All my photos are indoors under flourescnet lighting. I have whipped up some AWESOME frankens that I am eager to get on my nails ASAP!!!!

♥ OPI 'Gargantuan Green Grape' ♥

 WHEW

This shade of green is something....else. It is a few more shades toward the yellow side in real life, and I am not even going to try and take photos outside. It looks a little more blue in all the photos of swatches and manicures that I have seen on the internet. There must be some magical & powerful yellow pigment in this polish to make it do this. My camera would not focus on this mani until I changed from a white back drop to a black one to get photos of this = weird! Or, I had another black object in the photo such as the top coat bottle or the OPI bottle.

Anyhoo This OPI polish 'Gargantuan Green Grape' is definitely bright and eye catching. I love bright pastel-ish colors that can be seen in dim dark lighting. I grabbed the wrong bottle of T.C. and applied it to my Thumb & Index finger so I got a few bubbles and gouges. Other than that this polish had no application issues and dried in a decent amount of time. It is a jelly-ish creme formula. I do not like the thick brush handle.... I like skinny-er brush handles, but I know with practice I will survive. 

This was 3 coats of GGG, and two coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat. All my photos are indoors under fluorescent lighting.

♥ OPI - At Your Quebec & Call ♥

This was a surprise find! OPI 'At Your Quebec & Call' truly is a beautiful polish. I found this polish at a lovely beauty salon at the mall in my town. Lately,  I have been lucky finding what I was looking for; this OPI polish was one of the few OPI polish's I would be willing to pay reg. price for.

On my MIDDLE nail I have 2 coats of Billie 'Black' & 2 coats of 'At Your Quebec & Call', I thought this looked perfect with just the 2 coats of black and only 1 coat of AYQ&C, so next time I wear this I will apply it over black. This polish is gorgeous on it's own - but I loooove how it looks over black.

Here is ALOT of photo's. If you are bored of all your polish's = try layering them over a coat or two of black polish or another dark color - applying polish over black can drastically change the look of polish. In these photos I am wearing Fing'rs false nails ( pic in the sidebar)
