♥ Nail Prisms Duo-Chrome Skittles ♥

♥ THUMB - S.H. Nail Prism -'White Ruby' 2 coats 1/2 nail applied over N.Y.C. 'S.T.D.'
♥ INDEX - S.H. Nail Prism -'Emerald Amethyst' - layered over 2 coats of N.Y.C. 'S.T.D.'
♥ MIDDLE - Antique Claire's Attitude polish in 'Mystery Color'
♥ RING - S.H. Nail Prism -'Bronze Pink' - layered over 2 coats of N.Y.C. 'S.T.D.'
♥ PINKY - S.H. Nail Prism -'Ruby Sapphire' - layered over 2 coats of N.Y.C. 'S.T.D.'

NOTE; I did not plan for this post to be an epic essay....

With the exception of my middle finger and 1/2 of my thumb nail, all my Nail Prism polish are layered over 2 coats of N.Y.C. 'Skin Tight Denim'. On all my nails I have applied 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat. I usually apply these Sally Hansen Nail Prisms over another polish as they are very sheer, and I would need between 3 to 5 coats to get to the bottle color. So I will recommend that for these types of sheer duo-chrome or other effect type polish's.

I hope everyone ignores the sheet marks on my RING finger where I am wearing Sally Hansen Emerald Amethyst - I totally forgot about this Emerald Amethyst Nail Prisms not drying.... This happened the last time I wore this polish and I thought it was just a fluke.... but this polish will not dry. All the other polish's I am wearing were dry and totally fine in a normal amount of  time = but this was still dent-able after 14 hours. However you can still see the beautiful duo-chrome what a combo - lavender and green..... how pretty. I have seen this polish modeled recently on some other blogs and think it is a unique and beautiful color/ duo-chrome. The dents are very visiable in the shade photos.... I wonder why it is just this polish that is like that? hmmmm.

I did this very same skittles mani in summertime, but did not have any sunshine or the ability to use 'Macro mode' with flash. So I had to do it again when I could do a better job. My PINKY finger, 'Ruby Emerald' is not showing up in photos the way this polish looks in real life. It flashes deep navy blue, a striking purple, and a ruby red, with extreme shimmer. I have this on my list for a full mani sometime in the future to give it the attention it deserves. On my RING finger, 'Bronze Pink', is a gasoline in a water puddle duo-chrome, that flashes bronze, golden-copper, cranberry red and .... and..... pretty much every color of the rainbow. Just like gasoline or oil in a puddle. Very pretty. On my thumb I cut a out a sticker in a s- curve pattern and used 2 coats of  N.Y.C. 'S.T.D.', for the 'White Ruy' Nail Prism, this polish is pretty, but not easy to photograph. It flashes a lite green & pink but does not have the intensity that some of my other duo-chrome Nail Prisms have.

My MIDDLE finger, is a polish I picked up at a thrift store for $0.50 CAD, pretty good score, This is a shimmery grayed out medium purple. I was sorta ho-hum about it, and thought i should grab it for the bottle for future frankens, but wow- I actually like this alot. Attitude is the old, old, old Claire's polish, from like 15 years ago. After I Google-d the name & address, and what came up was The Claire's H.Q. = pretty neat! And then I remembered that Claire's had a cosmetics and Nail polish line that used to be called Attitude.... The formula is awesome for an old antique polish, it applied well and dried super fast and is not offensive smelling like I imagined an older polish would be, and the brush & brush handle are perfect.

After hunting around for a new lamp ( found one - YIPPEE! ) for my nail photos and craft room, I painted all my nails with the Attitude by Claire's Mystery Color. So that's my next post..... I have to come up with a better name for it though. ' What Attitude? '... that might be a good one.... I will Google if there is a polish named like that already. Actually = I really like that, hope it's not taken.

... Later.... So I Google-d this polish and nothing has come up, However according to this article, Claire's  ( the retailer) acquired the Afterthoughts company which was a group of jewelery/girly stuff stores. So the brand of this 'Mystery polish' is Afterthoughts. hmmmmm. Also this sorta looks like something I have seen recently but cannot recall what. Also I have found a new to me line,  'Attitude' is a European Collection of nail polish..... they have some really pretty colors on this site HERE..... I have never heard of this company or the collection of polish before either, but I have  found some swatches on Nail-Gal. Wow I learn something new every day!

I love the skittles mani :)
I wish the nail prisms were more easily available, I'm getting a bit tired of having to hunt them off ebay...they're so pretty though and definitely worth the hassle
