♥ Grand Forks U.S.A. Goodies ♥

Wow - I need way more time to get on here to post stuff...... here is my most recent haul of goodies when I visited Grand Forks North Dakota - I have always found cool stuff at the Family Dollar and Dollar Tree = Just going to those two stores is worth it to travel down (2 hours ). I also (thankfully) found Pure Ice polish's.... oooooooh MYYYY GOOOOOOODNEEEESSSSSS , oh my goodness, those polish's are friggen awesome, for 2 bucks!!! Next time I go down on a Bizznezz trip - I am totally buying one of each! One of each of every color - I am serious, every single one that I looked at ( there was like, 50 of them ) were really, really beautiful. AND they are square bottles - how awesome! I could not locate Sinful polish though...... I believe they can be bought at Walgreen? ( right ? ) So next time I visit the U.S.A. I will be on the hunt for those.

I am extra lazy on this lovely Sunny Sunday - but I will get some swatches going and take more photos-Most of these have already been covered on the nail blogs. Right now I have some exciting home improvement projects I want to get started on - hope my nails survive it!

I ended up buying my stainless steel B.B's at Walmart Here in Canada - but I wanted to find a lesser quantity, instead of 2500 of them, with no luck. There is a few things missing from my photos, as I had to leave a few things at my MOm's house. Just mostly house-hold stuff and my mini soft drinks that they don't make in Canada.

!!! I got my friggen Root Beer !!!

Any hoo- first up - My Walmart polish haul -
Love My nails - $1.00 each USD
Pure Ice - $2.00 each USD
Wet n' Wild $0.93 each USD
The Cutex pump bottle was on clearance for $3.00USD

The B.B.'s were $6.00 Canadian..... 2500 count ( sheesh )

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Dollar Tree Goodies... Ahhhhh - I love that store - Seriously I had to hold back and not buy doubles of things, If I had more room I would have bought way, way more extra nail polish - those minis are actually pretty good - surprising. I picked up 3 Loreal loose eye shadows, that are very nice, and very pigmented duo-chromes, ( crappy pic - it was late ) I was happy to find those older Revlon's, I liked the brush on those and wish most nail polish ( all brands ) came in bottels like this for easier storage.

I will be swatching these cute minis asap - just in case they show up at a Dollar tree near you -

Did I mention that all these lovely things pictured here were a dollar? = AWESOME!!!!!!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Family Dollar = another awesome store - lots of nail polish for $1.00/ $2.00 USD and some gum for my DH.

Arissa'a - $2.00 each USD
L.A. Nails - $1.00 each USD
Glitter minis' - $1.00 each USD

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I popped in a Sally Beauty Supply and found 2 cute minis for $0.49 cents each - "Mellow" and "Chill", and some grinding stones (.99cents) and a brush for my battery operated nail thing.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Here is some small amounts of glitter that I took form my moms huuuuuge glitter stash - she gotz glittah! I am slowly weeding out my craft stash and am trying to only purchase and or acquire what I really, really need. I will be making a donation to her soon of the glitter that I have hanging around here......

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

And an awesome jewelry pliers set that I got for $9.99 USD - I have been looking for pretty girly color jewelery pliers for a long time - here in Canada they are either super-duper expensive or just above a reasonable/realistic price=but poorly made (expensive CRAP) So I was happy to find these for 10 bucks.

And I found some other awesome things at T.J. Maxx - fancy sheet sets for $ 20.00 U.SD each, and some delicious smelling hair conditioner - We also ate amazing meals, and pizza - but I will not torture people with Food Porn - that's cruel.

♥Billie - 25-6 'Electric Fuchsia'♥

~ Billie 'Electric Fuchsia' 3 coats & 2 coats of Billie T.C. ~

I will say that this line-up of Billie polish's are a copy-cat of Color Club Electro-Candy. It is a neon with a -very- subtle blurple shimmer that is very nice. They are all very pretty but need 3 to 4 coats for opaqueness.....I think that they would look best over a coat of white but would still need 3 to 4 coats. They dry super fast so that is not a problem for me, even though I -hate- polish's that need that many coats I will make an exception for these insanely bright colors.

As with all extremely bright colors this polish was very hard to capture in most lighting. I feel I have done a good job with the florescent lighting photo's, though. I have used those hearts that I purchased recently for some nail art= a trial to see how well they hold up. So far none of them have snagged on anything, and they are sticking on pretty good. I used nail glue to glue them in place, then used 2 coats of clear nail polish over them. Hopefully you can see the thickness of the hearts in these photo's, they are pretty thick ~ but I have yet to find nail art pieces that are thinner than this..... I just stuck them on my RIGHT hand ring finger in a random pattern, on my LEFT hand I tried to do a little more of a pattern. These are more translucent hearts with alot of flash to them.

When I am looking at nail supple sites for these types of things, they never say how thick the object is..... these types of hearts for example. It seems like this is the standard thickness for nail art pieces, and what I have seen in the stores it seems to be the same.. also some of the nail art hearts & stars or whatever are too large and do not bend. So if they are sitting on a curved part of your nail, they poke off your nail bed. OH WELL... These problems are why KONAD was invented ♥

♥ Billie Electric Shimmers = Swatch's ♥

~ Below - Shade ~

All Swatches, Left to Right =
  • 25-1 Electric Blue,
  • 25-2 Electric Pink,
  • 25-6 Electric Fuchsia,
  • 25-4 Electric Coral,
  • 25-5 Electric Purple
  • 09-5 - Feeling Blue

These polish's are somewhat translucent and need 3 to 4 coats for good opacity however they dry fast and are $ .99 cents in my town so I aint gonna complain. They dry to a satin/matte finish and need a good coat ( or 2 ) of a shiny Top Coat. I suppose that this is the 'new' line of Billie Polish's for summer? There really is little information about these polish's, sadly. But I am very happy to model them. They are available at Dollar Giant store's and various other discount stores in Canada.

♥ Sally Hansen "Chocolatey Polish's" ♥

This has been sitting in my " to-post" area for a while. After seeing the gorgeous Risque chocolaty polish's HERE ~ I thought that I should get this posted. { you can translate this blog = which is an awesome blog if you have not come across this yet♥ }

Here are a few Sally Hansen 'Chocolaty' polish's I have acquired over the last few months. I have not seen these on many blogs = I think that they were released in January /February of 2009.... The first polish on the left is Sally Hansen Ominous, which is not part of the chocolaty collection, but I wanted to include it anyway... I believe that this was released for Halloween 2008. It is a very rich dark polish.

There was 6 polish's that were part of this collection, I cannot find any supplementary info to share. Even a Google search of the individual polish names comes up with just a few photos, and links to 2 other blog posts. So I think that this might be a Canada only line-up of polish. I intend these to be my last purchase of "polish - that - look - black - in - most - lighting, - except - for - outside - in- the - sunshine. The two darkest chocolate-named polish are very, very pretty in bright lighting , but their true color is un-discernible without that bright light, so I mine-as-well be wearing black....{ what a cry baby} i will likely tweak these so that they are not so dark.

Like all Sally Hansen ceramics, these are richly pigmented, and are two coaters. Here on my super-awesome home made nail swatches, I have done 2 coats with 2 coats of C.G. Fast Forward. At first I did not like Cappuccino, but now I think it is a beautiful color and I am looking forward to mani with this and some nail art using one of the darker browns.

ALL SWATCHES, From Left to Right

  • Cappuccino --6300-02
  • Mocha Madness --6300-03
  • Dark Nut Brown --6300-04
  • Dark Chocolate --6300-05
  • Ominous --6262-07

Below are the Sally Hansen collection "brown polish's with chocolate themed names"collection ( lol ) if anyone knows the name of this collection of 6 chocolate-ey please let me know. I am missing two, but the colors that I am missing did not interest me. The colors I am missing are another light creamy taupe, and another shimmery cashew metallic color. I am sure I will come across some in a dusty Canadian drug-store in the future.

A super- duper sunshine close up of, Dark Chocolate, Ominous & Mocha Madness, Hopefully the last 3 polish's that I buy which look black except for in bright lighting or Sunshine. I wish that Mocha Madness looked like this in normal lighting, for fall, I will be on the hunt for rich warm chocolate colors.....That I can get to bottle color in two coats.

♥ T.O.T.M-W. Wet n' Wild "Femme Fatale"♥

~ Wet n' Wild "Femme Fatale" - 2 coats & 2 coats of T.C. ~

Here is my T.O.T.M-W{ Toes Of The Mid-Week }........Wet n' Wild "Femme Fatale" a vibrant cheer-ful hot pink with slight coral undertones..... I acquired this polish from my Mom, whom I originally gave it to. These cute little mini polish's came in a clear container that looked like a mini paint can, I believe that there was 8 or 10 in the cute, clear container. This is 2 coats with 2 coats of China Glaze Fast Forward. I probably should have used 3 coats of "Femme Fatale" because I can see a a few 'thin-spots' but I will likely add some glitter to this polish soon.♥

~ I cropped this out of another non-toenail-polish-related photo.... It actually turned out pretty good, a little fuzzy, but a nice photo of my toes in my HIPPIE -SHOES ♥.

♥ Sally Hanson 'Health Frost' ♥

~ Shade with Flash ~

Old time polish, Sally Hansen 'Health Frost', a gorgeous deep purple with glitter. I think that I have had this for at least 12 years, but it might be older..... anyone else remember these or have them? When they came out with this there was a few different polish's with glitter. I adore this purple color and finish, and the glitter is enchanting, however, this is seriously lumpy...... even after 2 coats of Clear polish ( 3 coats of clear on my MIDDLE finger) the glitter is still very, very lumpy. Well, maybe 'lumpy' is the wrong word. It is still very 'textured'

Also.... I found these at Field's store ( Canada ). I do not recall these polka-dot ones making it to the bigger stores here in Canada.... like W.M. or Pharmacy/Drug Stores. Very Cool.

I hope they fare better for me than other Fing'rs pre-painted and decorated false nails. The Fields store in my town has been a gold-mine of great deals for me. I now that Field's stores can be found in alot of small towns in Canada. If you live in Canada check out HBC.ca to see if there is a store in your community. I found an awesome mini salad spinner for $7.00 bucks! I was elated about that because I have not been able to find one in the stores here, in other cities or even on-line!

Anyhoo - onto the photos. I hope that there is someone else out there who gets a kick out of seeing old-time polish's & Antique polish's... I do! and I love to see posts of them as well♥

~♥~ In-expensive Bargain Nail Polish ~♥~

~♥~ This picture is from November 13, 2008 ~♥~

( Link to the web-site)

{below- from the website }

Tonnes of Sally Hansen Nail polish

:::: "A HUGE variety of colors and styles of nail polish. Color choices such as different pinks, blues, purples, yellows, clear, white, orange, and reds.
Cost any where from $3- $4 normally......Our Price- 3/ $1.00 !! ::::"""

5900 S. Range Rd
North Judson, IN 46366

WHAAAAAAAAT 3 FOR $1.00!!!!!! Is there an international airport in North Judson Indiana?

After doing some 'google-ing for some swatches of older Sally Hansen polishes, I found this site..... I think those are Nail Prisms in those bins! I know these types of stores are not for everybody, but you can find some cool stuff in those out-of-the-way, sometimes scary shops..... I know I have visited a few scary discount places and found cool stuff & others I scurried out of. I miss that about living in a big city - being able to hop around to all the cool bargain stores. { :o( }

This website, says that they have 5000 sq. ft. of 'stuff '. Wow, I think I would have a heart attack if I walked into ANY Discount Center, and they had boxes and bins of nail polish... for 3 for $1.00. = ESPECIALLY SALLY HANSEN NAIL PRISMS AND SALLY HANSEN MAXIMUM GROWTHS.. I am so jealous ===== but I am thankful that I have recently gotten lucky with my bargain nail polishes... So I definitely should not be whiny about it.

So if you live near this place, and you have found nail goodies there... please let me know! I am curious if anyone has actually shopped there- and if it is a good lead for bargain polish and or older Sally Hansen's for 33 cents each.... Yes I am a crazy bargain shopper!

♥Billie - Electric Shimmers♥

25-1 Electric Blue, 25-2 Electric Pink, 25-4 Electric Coral,
25-6 Electric Fuchsia, 25-5 Electric Purple

My latest haul from the .99 cent store..... I am waiting for some sunshine to get good swatches of them....... and will post a mani soon......These are very similar to the neon polish that I posted and modeled a while back, but they have a blue shimmer to them like Color Club 'Electro-Candy'. Will update ASAP. You can find these polish's at Dollar Giant in Ontario, Saskatchewan & Alberta. They are very pretty but are 3 coaters or more = however they dry quite fast.

I'm off to paint!

♥ Nail Art Hearts ♥

I thought I could possibly use these for some nail art in the future. They are much, much smaller hearts than the hearts in Nicole by O.P.I. and others. So far they look pretty good. I got these at a bargain store in my town for $2.50 CAD. I read on the blogs that people seem to 'fish out' the actual hearts/stars from the nail polish bottels = I think this will keep me sane and instead of fishing for hearts/stars I will try this first..... I am still hunting around for 'shapes' that are way, way thinner then these and others that I have been able to find so far. I am a clumsy girl and suspect that these may not have the longevity that I am looking for. But = they will do for now. ♥

♥ Franken - 'Army Green' ♥

~ Franken 'Army Green' 3 coats & 2 coats of T.C. ~
~ These are my shorter " sewing/crafty" nails ~

Blaaaaaaah - I am so over green right now and am aching to get something colorful and vibrant on my nails...... This is a lovely Franken I made using a base of Billie 'Neon Green' and adding China Glaze 'For Audrey' and some black. I am currently painting my nails outside- and it was extremely windy when I did this, so it was a little on the lumpy side but the China Glaze Fast Forward smoothed it all out... I love that stuff!!!!! This Franken turned out to be a deep rich green, that still looks green in dark lighting thanks to the base color of Billie 'Neon Green'. (I am trying to avoid polish's that just look black in dark lighting & poor lighting ). Again, it was hard to compare this to anything. Hopefully the contrast between actual real plants and this polish is enough....

I was hoping to make a less brighter version of a dark green, but I think that it turned out better this way...... it is not a "real" army green, it is way too bright = but I am satisfied.

Anyhoo - onto the photos = all outside... I need a colorful polish on my nails... STAT! I think I am gonna go with Orange. I would like to add that my next batch of Franken-Fabulous-ness is gonna be blue themed..... I am looking forward to creating those.♥
