♥ Katie Perry's Nails ♥

~ Too much ? ~

I am  surprised I have not seen this done on the interwebz or on blogs anywhere..... this was lots of fun to do = but not practical.  I loved this right away when I saw it.....These are more of a 'Concept Nails' look, as I would not wear this mani IRL, however I was in Micheal's Craft Store a few weeks ago, and saw sheets of smaller pink rhinestones which would probably look a little better than these bigger ones I have used.  I used 'Cell Phone' stick on rhinestones, = they have a sticky back which you just peel off the protective paper and stick to your cell phone. I got these at Claire's jewelery store a while ago and never used them, and picked off a few smaller rhinestones from a butterfly rhinestone tattoo that I had laying around....

I used sticky nail tabs to attach these false nails to my nails.....  - because these rhinestones would pick up so much fluff and fur etc I wanted to be able to just pop these off..... they aren't practical for real life......... they look really cool though.

I painted my nails with Billie 'Silver' - a very rich silver foil polish., and then just started sticking the rhinestones on my nails. It did not take very long, maybe 15 minutes. I found that sticking these rhinestones on my nails was very relaxing & meditative. The tiny rhinestones that I glued on with nail glue kept popping off....so there area few bare spots. There are few tut's on the interwebs on how to do this..... All my photos are indoors under fluorescent lighting. I did take some flash photos, but I could barely capture any blingy-ness.

~ The stones I used were way bigger - & this only took me 15 minutes ~

♥ T.O.T.D. - Rimmel - 'Glam Goth' ♥

~ Rimmel 'Glam Goth' - 2 coats & 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat ~

I am behind in posting T.O.T.D photos. ~ I have a tonne sitting in a file.

I think the density of the shimmer in this polish is messing with my camera--- This really is a neat color- I did not make it back to the store to snap a photo of the 'Rimmel Glam Goth' display. All photos are indoors under Florescent lighting. I figured out why my lighting and photos seemed so weird looking, too bad I resolved it before I took these photos. I have already marred my beautiful 'Glam Goth' mani & have fixed it up with some simple nail art  ( next post )

This T.O.T.D was 2 coats,  with 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat.

♥ Rimmel - 'Glam Goth' ♥

~ Rimmel Goth Glam 2 coats & 2 coats of Nailene T.C. ~

I drove myself absolutely crazy trying to take good pictures of this polish. This is a deep rich purple packed with pink, blue and silver micro-shimmer.... I found this in a display at the grocery store - it's supposed to be part of limited edition Rimmel goth collection.....I try to avoid the whole L.E. scene~ but this was on clearance so I grabbed it. It's a really cool color and finish, it needs two coats, though, maybe three, and although it says that you do not need a top coat, I added one anyway, because the photos I was getting without a T.C. were not good. At the end of this post is a photo of this polish at 1 coat where you can see the pink and blue micro-shimmer.

This polish is perfect for me right now- As I am the palest I have ever been, and my new indoor fluorescent lamp really makes me look pale....( I am fixing my other lamp) Even though this new lamp takes decent photos, it make my skin look soooooooo pale. I was getting such great photos with that lamp and I friggen broke it ! SAD!

Another thing to add... it says on the bottle that these Rimmel polish's are made in Spain... I did not know that.

I did a little Google-ing and nothing came up for this Rimmel L.E. collection of dark goth-y type cosmetics, or even for this specific polish "Goth Glam". The display has been in the grocery store I frequent and all the make-up/polish has barely been touched, it was sitting there for at least 1 month..... I might be sneaky tomorrow and take a photo of the display in the grocery store.

♥ Nail Prisms - 'Bronze Pink' ♥

~ Sally Hansen Nail Prisms - Bronze Pink 2 coats & 2 coats of T.C. ~

No-one can possibly be sick of nail prisms yet...... Here is the lovely Nail Prisms in 'Bronze Pink' - 2 coats over a pinky-beige base color, and 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat. ( I always layer prisms and other duo-chromes ). This polish flashes a rich ruby, a bronze metallic, and a lovely sharp gold. Very Pretty! As all duo-chromes polish's I find that these look their best in the worst lighting conditions..... Hmmmmm. Flash photos did capture the duo-chrome like usual...

♥ Department Store Standouts ♥

Here is a lovely late night skittles I did of some department store polish's which are inexpensive and very lovely colors. Of course my beloved N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim is in this line up, as well as 4 Wet n' Wild polish's which have been covered many, many times on blogs and elsewhere. In Canada - these Wet n' Wild Polish's run form $1.57 to $3.29 ( ? ). They are the least expensive at Walmart... and go up from there at different dept. stores and pharmacies. I haven't seen this collection of N.Y.C. bottles around these parts for a while, so I am not sure if they are still available in Canada (are they ? ). I had wrongly overlooked N.Y.C. in the past, and totally regret not picking up a few of the really cool colors of Long Wearing Nail Enamel collection that they did have. If I find them I am totally buying 2 more back up bottles of N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim, as well as a few other polish I have seen on Nail-Gal & the blogs.

PINKY - Wet n' Wild - Bijou Blue - 4 coats & 2 coats of T.C. ( 4 coats- I'll layer in a future mani)
RING - N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim -  2 coats & coats of T.C.
MIDDLE - Wet n' Wild - Caribbean Frost  - 3 coats & 2 coats of T.C.
INDEX - Wet n' Wild - Wild Orchid - 3 coats & 2 coats of T.C.
THUMB - Wet n' Wild - Sapphire Blue - 3 coats & 2 coats of T.C.

All my photos are indoors under a fluorescent lamp, I did this late, late at night, just for fun. I really should pay these more attention, as they are beautiful colors. I tend to favor to polish's only if they are 2 coat to opacity,  But I'll let these Wet n' Wild polish slide. They are very pretty, dry fast and are cheap.

♥ 'Ruby Sapphire' Nail Prisms - Sally Hansen ♥

~ Sally Hansen Nail Prisms - 'Ruby Sapphire' =  2 coats layered over N.Y.C. - 'S.T.D.' ~

I am extremely proud of my 'Garnet Lapis Nail Prisms ' photos and hoped that I could get the same great shots of this polish as well, but I think that this polish 'Ruby Sapphire' does not have as much duo-chrome-i-ness as 'Garnet Lapis'. It is still very beautiful, I took 86 photos and very few of them really showcased the duo-chrome effect. This polish flashes a deep ruby, a majestic purple and a beautiful shimmery navy. In the photos below on the newspaper, this polish is also showing a weird silver/white shimmer that I never noticed before.... hmmmmm.

This polish dried super-duper fast, and I am still hunting around for the reason why  S.H. Nail Prism -'Emerald Amethyst' that I have just will not dry. I have read on blogs and elsewhere that there are a few people who say that they have specific N.P's that will not dry, and others that dry way, waaaaay too fast......Strange.

One of my favorite things about these duo-chrome S.H. Nail Prisms, is that the effect and beauty is still really apparent to me in low & crummy lighting and that it looks drastically different in all kinds of lighting as well.  I can see the duo-chrome effect better in low lighting and lamp light = but I cannot get a good photo of it in the low lighting.

♥ Cover Girl - 'Mint Sorbet' ♥

~ Cover Girl - 'Mint Sorbet' = 3 coats NO T.C. ~

~ RING 2 coats of white & 2 coats of 'Mint Sorbet' ~

I had this Cover Girl polish a long time ago, and found it again recently at a  thrift store in my town.....  It applied perfectly, and was so shiny on it's own that I did not use a top coat for these photos. On my ring finger I used 2 coats of a stark white polish, then applied 2 coats of Cover Girl 'Mint Sorbet'. Cover girl has some cool older polish's, I have recently seen a few while doing some Google image searches. I hope I find Cover Girl - 'Chocolate Mint' some day, it is a very pretty rusty brown and mint green duo-chrome. I have recently seen somewhere.... that someone found this at the Dollar Tree----- that is Awesome! If you are bored, head over to Flickr and search Cover Girl Nail polish's... lots of fun.

I intend to be a little less cruel to my cuticles ~ as they look pretty beat up in these photos. It was friggen freezing when I took these photos. I can sense that my outdoor polish modeling days are numbered. SAD!
