♥ Billie 'Midnight Smoke' layered over black ♥

Billie 'Midnight Smoke' 1 coat layered over 2 coats of Black
INDEX nail is 3 coats of 'Midnight smoke'

Grrrr..... Grrrrr.... & more Grrrrrr with the real 'F' word thrown in. My computer is 'F-d' and so i cannot add red valentines themed mani's for actual Valentines day! Dang - I am working on a solution until then..... more backed up posts! Enjoy

♥ also; Happy Valentine's Day ♥

Here is a Billie polish I was hoping to find ' Midnight Smoke' a neat silver-grey polish with flecks of... of... flecks. Both of these polish were from my Ontario vacation haul. I think the effect of this polish 'Midnight Smoke' over black looks really cool and is somewhat similar to another polish I have seen recently.

I found that if I added several drops of a foil polish to a clear polish I would get this effect. That is a group of Franken polish's I have in the works. =  Can someone else try it & report back♥

♥ SKITTLES- Mavala & Indulge mini's ♥

SKITTLES TIME!

PINKY - Mavala 'Nice' # 72
RING - 'Frosty Fuchsia'
MIDDLE - 'Shimmery Orange'
INDEX - ' Shimmery Fuchsia'
THUMB - Mavala 'Salerno' # 70

These cute Mavala polish were found at a department store in my town, and the Indulge Tropical trio was found at a dollar store in Ontario. The two orange polish's, on my PINKY and MIDDLE finger, really are bright! Of course cameras seem to have hard time getting the correct orange shade for bright orange colors like this.

♥ China Glaze 'Sexy in the City' w/ Toronto 'M' #28 ♥

'Color Cosmetic # 28' & China Glaze 'Sexy in the City'

NOTE; My posts are allllllll out of order, the internet is angry with me. Uploading pics & typing is difficult for some reason. Anyhoo- here is how I jazzed up a previous mani. I think it turned out very pretty.

How I did this;
  • 2 coats of 'M' Color Cosmetic's # 28
  • 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat
  • Apply Nailene Tip Guides diagonally
  • 2 coats of China Glaze 'Sexy in the City'
  • when dry-remove tip guides, buff any raised areas & apply 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat

I wanted to get 1 more day out of my Toronto polish  - 'Color Cosmetic # 28', so I stuck on some Nailene Nail Tip Guides diagonally across the tips of my nails and applied 2 coats of China Glaze 'Sexy in the City'. When it was dry, I  peeled off the Nailene nail tip guides, gently buffed any raised areas, and applied 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat I find that lately I am into subtle contrast, so I thought that these two colors were similar. Whenever I end up wearing this polish I always ask myself "Why don't I wear this more". ChG 'Sexy in the City' is a beautiful polish. It is perfect for layering over a mani that needs refreshing.

!!!!!  Exciting Photo commentary  !!!!!

Grrrrrr. The hot pink on the packaging of these Nailene French Tip Guides, sometimes messes with my camera. When I have worn polish's that are hott pink or orange, taking a photo without my skin turning orange is impossible. But it certainly is helping to show-off the green iridescence of the GhG 'Sexy in the City'

A low lighting photo which miraculously canceled out the orange tones created by that hot pink packaging.

No hot pink = no orangeness. This photo was taken after I removed the package of Nailene french tip guides. After I removed the tip guides from my nails,  the ridges created by the tip guides are visible. When your nails are slightly wet you can take a chance and gently 'squish' these down with the pads of your finger tip. But - waiting till your nails are dry enough to gently buff with a fine buffer will result in a crisper, perfect line. Usually 2 coats of Top Coat will conceal a raised ridge, too

= How I did this - In photos =

This is a 2 day old mani, that I wanted to get a little more life out of before I removed it. This was 2 coats of this blue & 2 coats of T.C.

♥ Icing mini's Skittles ♥

I can't believe I am writing this; but these polish's need less glitter. Less of the smaller silver glitter, that is; and more of these awesome colored specks of glitter. In the blurry fuzzy single nail photo below, you can see the glowey blue/purple specks of glitter very easily. There almost seems to be too much of the silver glitter, and I feel that in normal lighting conditions, this dense smaller silver glitter envelops these awesome blue specks of glitter. There are several better swatches of these on the interwebz, mine are not that great.

These 5 minis are very pretty polish's, they applied just fine, the brush was easily maneuverable, and they dried in a timely fashion. This is one coat over black with 1 coat of NaileneT.C. My only complaint is wishing there was more 'specks' of these awesome glowey specks, and having less silver glitter.

THUMB - Goldie locks - creamy silver
INDEX - Sparklin Girl - purple
MIDDLE - Starry Eyes - Blue
RING - Passion - Pink
PINKY - Oscar - Gold

♥ WTF Toronto polish & The 'Trophy wife nails I use ♥

1/06/10...seriously?

So I really, really love the darkest blue polish that I picked up in Toronto, Ontario- but it stained my nails terribly ( my false nails ). Also, I found that it is a foil polish, as when I was removing it there was a sheet of silver polish left on my nails that required some serious elbow grease and acetone! I didn't even get it all off.

The photo's below are after polish remover- and a close up shot of my thumb nail. Pictured above as well as the last photo are the 'Trophy Wife' length nails I am wearing at the moment. I loooooooove these false nails and I am stocked up for a few more months.

Anyhoo- I did some serious prep before applying these false nails, and will be 'stuck' ( ha-ha ) with them for a week or two. I will be sure to apply a base-coat the next time I try any more weird obscure brands of polish.

Nail Polish Challenge... yes I am still working on this.

= Frankens =

So - since I have run out of 'space' to post photos without paying for it, for now I think I should clear out my "to post" posts. I seriously have 14 posts - waiting to be posted that have just been sitting around for like 3 months....

WOW - This Billie 'French White' did something totally un-expected when I mixed it with Wet 'n' Wild Blue Sapphire' = It hid all the shimmer from 'Blue Sapphire'! I could only spot it very faintly in the bottle and in strong sunshine on my nails. So this was a pleasant surprise, I was not expecting lite blue cremes, I was hoping for shimmery lite blues. I'm not complaining = these turned out lovely♥

I also tried to franken a jelly or a more sheer version of  Wet n' Wild 'Blue Sapphire'  by mixing half 'Blue Sapphire & half clear nail polish, but it is still way, waaaay too opaque. I am starting to appreciate sheer & jelly-ish finishes more, and need something to compliment all my glitter creations I come up with. I am going to mess around with this sheer version of 'Blue Sapphire' I need another bottle of this though, I am in love with this color!

* Wet n' Wild Franken polish are turning out to be awesome! plus there $.99 cents in the USA & $1.59 in Canada! Has any Canadians come across the new Wn'W polish's yet? =  = off to MUA for answers.....
Here is the links to the other 4 posts in my "Deez Nailz Nail Polish Challenge" where i am trying to come up with as any looks as I can with just 2 colors of polish's and regular everyday items from around the house, like mailing labels, sponges for sponging, can opener, cement mixer, light-bulbs and glitter.

Far Left - 1/2 Clear & 1/2 Wet n' Wild 'Blue Sapphire'
Middle -  3/4 Billie 'French White' & 1/4 Wet n' Wild 'Blue Sapphire'
Right - 1/2 Wet n' Wild 'Blue Sapphire' & 1/2 Billie 'French White'

THUMB - 2 coats of white & two coats of franken 1/2 clear & 1/2 'Blue Sapphire'
INDEX - 2 coats of Billie 'French White'
MIDDLE - 2 coats of  3/4 White & 1/4 Blue Sapphire''
RING - 2 coats of 1/2 White & 1/2 'Blue Sapphire'
PINKY - 2 coats of Wet n' Wild 'Blue Sapphire'

The end of Deez Nailz?

 WOW!

I loved adding all these photos to my blog but it has finally happened~ I tried to load up new photos and I got this message....

"this site has exceeded it's file quota"

I was just asking that a few weeks ago - how much space does a blog have?...... well, I still don't know how much space I have used, but apparently I have run out of it. At the end of summer I made a new blog deez10nailz.blogspot.com, - I will start posting over there = unless I figure out how to fix this one so I can still post here

I still have 14 posts-waiting-to-be-posted. So I will just be posting those un-posted posts till I figure all this out.

Has anyone else out there run into this problem yet? I really love blogger - I am stubborn and do not want to learn a new type of 'blogger' or 'word-press' type thing. I hope it isn't like, un-ethical to just start up a new blog and keep this one running as well.

Grrrr.. what to do?

Here is my other blog, just in case............... I am glad I thought of that♥

Never mind - I figured it out - I have already used 99% of my allotted picasa web album space...
