Nail tip guides are awesome to have around. This was easy to do and I think it looks really cool! I have tried to do scotch tape mani's and I suck at them, so I will stick to free-hand stuff or use french tip guides.
I started with a base of Sally Hansen Complete Salon in Madame X - this is a very bright hot pink creme leaning towards orange. I couldn't take 1 non-fuzzy photo of it, as my camera doesn't like these types of bright pinks.
I used chevron french tip guides that I purchased in a nail art set from The Dollar Rama ( Canada ) and used Sally Hansen Complete Salon polish in Trouble Maker - a very pretty medium purple creme. I picked up both of these polish's on the bargain rack at Walmart for $1.00 = SCORE!!!!!
I am resisting the urge to trace over all the line with a fine silver glitter stripe nail art polish......
3 coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Madame X
Kiss nail tip guides.... HERE is the set I found these in
I applied the nail tip guides to my nails........
Then added 2 coats of Sally Hansen CSM Trouble Maker
..... and my clean-up brush SNAPPED IN HALF MID-USE!!!!It flew half-way across the room! lol
very impressive. I love chevron print.
I'm going to have to try the Chevron design....it has a very "mod" look to it
Looks great :)
YAY this looks so cool!! :D
Fantastic! Love them!
Thanks so much for showing us the guides. I never have seen any that looked like this. I am totally in love with geo shapes but so not good with freehand on ones like this that precision counts. I use the 3 ring paper hole reinforces cut in half to be my guides for half moon Ruffin designs and that works well for me. I also don't do well with scotch tape - I get a ton of bleed under it.
OOOPs - that link did not take me to a place to purchase these guides - it's linked to an older page from your blog.
Oh and LOVE the color combo - even if it's a little 'Red Hat Society' looking - do you guys have that up in Canada or am I talking gibberish to ya when it comes to Red Hat??? If that's the case - it's a group of mostly older ladies and they have group colors of red with purple. Various shades of red see to pop into the OK range for them - red/orange - deep purple too, but mostly right around this hue of purple. There is some poem that is about the Red Hat and getting old - sure it's on the web.
You have such pretty nails :)
Love this! :)
Stunning colors and great use of the guides! The Chevron ones I have are thin so I was thinking of using two at a time ~
These are gorgeous! I love thos colours together!
looks very cool!!
This looks awesome!!! I've never learnt to master tip guides, but I think I have to retry.
What kind of brush are you using for clean-up? I have never managed to find a good one. Yours look perfect...
This looks amazing!!! Love the colors!
Bummer about the brush but very cute mani!
Wow - thanks!
It was very easy to do!
Wow - Thank you!
I like using those circkle paper re-inforcements, too.
You can ourchase this type of set at Walmart, except it has neon stripe polish in it.
Yes we do have hed hat society, in the previous town i lived in there were quite afew ladies who would get together and do around-town-stuff.
I do know of that poem..... this is a good idea for a future blog post - Thanks!
Thnaks - they are FAKE!!!!!!!! Fake glue ons!
These colours did work out well! do you mean layering them on top of one another?
Thanks! I think of these two colours together in theory as "clashing" but they work well together.
Thanks! The brush I use is just a bargain eyeshadow brush that I snipped into an angle with scissors.
Thanks - It was a bargain brush but I really, really liked it.
Love the mani!
How long did you wait between the base snf applying the stickers? Also how long did you wait to peel them off?
